Community Kirtan with Julie Southwell and Friends

Join us for an evening of devotional singing and music. Kirtan is a practice of sacred call and response singing. It calms the mind and opens the heart in love of the divine. In practicing kirtan we join our voices in divine prayer, connecting our intentions and prayers for a more conscious and peaceful self, community and world.

Learn the basics of vinyasa yoga including alignment for Sun Salutations, standing postures, backbends and hip openers. We will work with linking movement and breath, finding ease and grace in transitions. This workshop is for beginners but all practitioners who would like to look closely at alignment in flow are encouraged to attend. Please pre-register at the studio or email info@bend-yoga.com.

Finding Yoga Grace with Vanessa – February 18

“Finding your Grace” is all about coming back to the center, located in the astral spine (Sushumna Nadi). While Vanessa’s classes in Ananda Yoga are meditative and internal, this workshop will be more playful and free-flowing, allowing for grounded self-expression and discovery. With the breath and quiet concentration, we will connect to the grace inherent in all of us. The connection will inspire fluidity of movement from the core, openness and confidence. Surrender is the outcome which ultimately brings Mukti (freedom). A wonderful way to celebrate the month of love!

Yoga In Action – Experiencing Interconnection

Yoga in Action is a local chapter of the Engage Network and of Off the Mat, Into the World, an organization with the mission of using the power of yoga to inspire conscious, sustainable activism and to ignite grass roots social change. Are you ready to explore the meaning of “live your yoga” in your life? We invite you to join us for this workshop in self-inquiry, uncovering purpose, and igniting change in the world. Our curriculum for February will focus on “Experiencing Interconnection” and will include exercises in experiencing the state of the world, exploring our reactions and defense mechanisms and recognizing the importance of community and collaboration as we embark in conscious change and positive evolution. The two hours will also include an asana practice, music and chanting and optional time to share with one another. Join Kat Seltzer, Lucius Wheeler and Aleta Raphael-Brock to dive into the next chapter of your yoga practice!

Pranayama & Meditation with Carin & Shannon – February 4

Breathing exercises are an important part of yoga practice and when practiced correctly can focus an active mind, cleanse the body of toxins, and bring presence and ease. Breath work is a perfect preparation for mindful meditation. In this workshop you will learn a few breath exercises and will be guided into a meditation session.
