I have been a runner for over 30 years, and in addition I now practice yoga. What a positive difference adding yoga has made! I suffered from an injured hamstring five years ago, and even with stretching and massage, it would flare up from time to time, and it was hard for me to travel seated for more than an hour and a half without having to get out and stretch. It has been less than a year since I began incorporating yoga into my physical activities, but I have not felt that annoying hamstring for months now. I recently drove back from Canada 13 hours straight and had not a sore spot in my body. In addition, I feel much lighter on my feet, my stride is much smoother, I am faster, and I am considerably more flexible. It’s not only running where I have noticed changes; my strides in winter Nordic skiing are also smoother, and I don’t tire as easily as I used to. Being a personal trainer and fitness professional, it is also extremely nice for me to take yoga classes where someone is telling ME what to do and helping me with my form. The instructors at Bend Yoga are a delight to work with: encouraging, patient, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Thank you, Bend Yoga, for enhancing my life both personally and professionally.

After my very first Yin class at Bend Yoga, I knew I found my Yoga Home! The environment is beautiful and peaceful; the instructors are too! My body feels so wonderful after each class, and that wonderful feeling stays with me. More importantly, I find peace in my heart and head. My “brain chatter” eases. Yoga has been extremely helpful to me in my everday battle with asthma. The breathing techniques learned in vinyasa have helped control it in and out of class. (and I haven’t had to use my inhaler once!). ~ Jacqui Bell
I had the great fortune to once again experience Rebecca’s 90 minute Sunday morning class at Bend Yoga. As she led us though what felt like an Ashtanga inspired vinyasa flow, I felt a sort of ecstatic bliss overtaking my body that came out sounding like a giggle when she threw in lighthearted jokes here in there. By the end of class it was if no pose had been untouched or omitted and I was laying in a pool of sweat in complete feel-good exhaustion. I feel inspired by her teachings, and my spirit is still floating on a cloud. The private birthday yoga class planned for Jeff (my husband) at Bend Yoga was perfect! It was a meaningful way to connect with friends in a beautiful space. Aleta set the perfect invigoration space in the private session. We received individual attention and explored new stretches with class partners. Although I have always relied on exercise as a means to strive for physical and mental well-being, I didn’t discover the wonders of yoga until recently. I began to practice about a year ago and have absolutely fallen in love with both the physical and meditative aspects of yoga. For me, yoga has become not only an activity through which I can improve my physical strength, flexibility, and balance, but also one which encourages me to reexamine my life and the way I move through the world.
