Winter Wellness - The Chakra System
January 28th, 2010Support your yoga education this winter with these mini-workshops. These are great ways to reignite your passion about yoga, learn something new and step into the deep offerings of a yoga practice.

The Chakra System with Aleta - January 28
Learn about the seven primary chakras or sacred energy centers in the body including the Sanskrit names for each chakra, their qualities and signs of excessiveness or deficiency. We will start with a short chakra-cleansing flow, focusing on each center as we move and breath. A discussion of the energy centers will be followed by a deep relaxation with affirmations for each chakra. This is a wonderful way to explore and study yourself and the way energy moves within your body!
Pranayama & Meditation with Carin & Shannon - February 4
Breathing exercises are an important part of yoga practice and when practiced correctly can focus an active mind, cleanse the body of toxins, and bring presence and ease. Breath work is a perfect preparation for mindful meditation. In this workshop you will learn a few breath exercises and will be guided into a meditation session.
Finding Yoga Grace with Vanessa - February 18
“Finding your Grace” is all about coming back to the center, located in the astral spine (Sushumna Nadi). While Vanessa’s classes in Ananda Yoga are meditative and internal, this workshop will be more playful and free-flowing, allowing for grounded self-expression and discovery. With the breath and quiet concentration, we will connect to the grace inherent in all of us. The connection will inspire fluidity of movement from the core, openness and confidence. Surrender is the outcome which ultimately brings Mukti (freedom). A wonderful way to celebrate the month of love!
